The KYBA will be responsible for maintaining its own program. Scheduling, financing, personnel, and enforcing the rules and guidelines will be the responsibility of the KYBA Board of Directors.
New coaches will be appointed to the KYBA Board of Directors each fall. These new coaches will be nominated and appointed from the parents of the 3rd graders in the program or interested parents and community members. Coaches should display an interest in the game of basketball, have adequate experience and knowledge of the game. Board members will leave the board upon the conclusion of their son/daughter's 6th grade season. The varsity boy/girl coaches will be invited to participate as honorary members of the board.
The KYBA will be open to all 3rd-6th grade boys/girls that attend Knoxville schools (MWES, KJHS) or live in the Knoxville Community District #202. There will be no cuts made.
Teams may be split up if the number of participants is too large.
Practices will last a maximum of 2 hours. All practices will conclude by 8:00pm.
Practices will be canceled inthe event of school cancellation or early dismissal due to inclement weather.
The season's practices will start no sooner than the 1st week of November.
All players will receive a team uniform to be used during their season.
Each player will be covered by KYBA liability and accident insurance policy.Â
Parents are expected to arrange transportation for their child to all practices and games.
Parents will be expected to help with home games and tournaments.
The registration fee will be $60.00. Parents should return the registration fee and registration form. No player will be denied entrance to the program for financial difficulties. The registration fee will cover the cost of the uniform, equipment, officials fees, tournament entry fees, and insurance. Parents are responsible for the care and return of the uniform at the end of the season. Any uniform not turned in will be charged a $60.00 uniform fee.
